Introductions From Pastor’s Desk

I write to you as the new pastor of Christ, TB and introduce myself. Firstly to say how thankful my wife, family and I have felt since coming to Thunder Bay. And secondly to say we have been warmly welcomed and wish to say thank you to all who have helped us with accommodation, bedding, white goods and gentle words of encouragement. It has made our transition from Australia to Canada all the easier.

The installation on Tuesday night went well (please see pictures attached). I was quite nervous with 8 other pastors and a full church watching on! It is in times like this I am reminded of how God uses “jars of clay” like us, as per Pastor Shaun Manning’s sermon, to do his will and serve his church and his world.

I am still busy finding my feet. Still sorting out matters of my vehicle getting mechanical repairs and safeties sorted. My wife and children are sorting out schools getting ready for the new school year. I am finding my way through the admin at Christ and seeing what you guys have been up to before I came. I look forward to getting out to visit you all over the next 12 months and getting to know you, hear your stories, hear where you’re at with God, your journeys and find out how I can be praying and serving you best in this city of TB.

In terms of contact, you can reach me on my cell below. Or on this email. If I don’t get back to you straight away I will follow up when I can, as I may be in the middle of pastoral matters. Mondays are usually my day off for my sabbath, but if there is an emergency I will be there. If you’d like to meet to chat with me, please do email or text and I’ll put it in my diary. If you need confession and absolution I can arrange to meet at my office, in the church or even at cafe if you prefer. Wherever you feel comfortable. Please know that I am here to serve you as the hands and feet of Christ and will do all I can to assist you in your journey of faith.

Lastly. If you don’t wish to be on this email list, please send me an email and I’ll take you off. No pressure or questions asked. I assume all who are on here have given permission to be emailed by the Church. Be at rest, I don’t send out too many emails like this.

The Lord be with you.

Your servant.
